Freddie on History

Social content to help the Pay TV channel launch Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff as its first brand ambassador.

The brief

With British television personality and England cricketing legend, Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, becoming History UK’s first brand ambassador, we were asked to create a series of shorts featuring him at the heart of the content, sharing his love of the channel and some of its long running, returning formats.

Our solution

Developed to be relaxed and relatable brand films, our approach was to disrupt the usual flow of interstitial show-led promos by creating six authentic shorts featuring Freddie sharing his love of ‘Storage Wars’, ‘Pawn Stars’, and ‘Ice Road Truckers,’ amongst others.

We made the content consumable in its own right as an entertainment series by interweaving Freddie’s own personal stories relating to each of the shows premises throughout.

Our shorts are due to broadcast over the next year on History during peak time ad breaks and will feature in a Freddie take-over campaign across TV and online.
