Health and Safety Advisor - London

The right person will be passionate, knowledgeable and be able to develop and lead our safety management systems throughout the group, whist also delivering exciting projects of their own.

Based in our London office, the role will support all our service lines and clients as well as continue to build on the groups developing health & safety culture.

What will you be doing

  • Providing professional health & safety advice to project teams for the day to day operation of the businesses within The Creative Engagement Group, with a focus on Live, Exhibition and Film productions
  • Assisting in the deployment and management of training programmes across the business to ensure The Creative Engagement Group remains up to date with changing legislation and best practice
  • Developing and updating internal guidance and information for employees and suppliers to better inform each of the Health & Safety expectations of the business
  • Working alongside project teams to assess project risk and supporting suppliers on their safety management processes
  • Sometimes travelling with work (nationally & internationally) assisting with the onsite management and delivery of projects to the companies safety expectations (up to 2 weeks)
  • Working with third party health & safety suppliers / consultants to ensure a consistent safety management approach across all projects
  • Advising teams on ensuring compliance throughout projects and carrying out safety audits
  • Maintaining an incident management system and advising the company to any learnings following an incident or accident
  • Reflecting the agency’s values and culture at all times
  • Actively promote The Creative Engagement Group's services internally & externally

 

What you need to have

  • Previous health and safety experience within the live events sector (ideally supporting creative / production agencies), as well as experience of dealing with local authorities and licencing groups
  • Experience of working with Exhibition, Audio Visual, Scenic, Logistic and Film contractors
  • A Level 3 Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH or NCRQ qualified or equivalent)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi discipline teams
  • Pragmatic, self-starter with a practical, solution focussed approach
  • A good understanding of new technology and online collaborative working
  • A desire to continue the development the health & safety culture within the business, as well as their own personal CPD
  • A valid passport to enable international travel
  • Tech IOSH affiliation or higher would be advantageous

Self-Shooting Producer / Director (US) - Philadelphia

A bit about this role 

To work as a self-sufficient production unit, supported by Production and Account Management to deliver creative content for branded clients.

What you will be doing 

Act as the main point of contact for projects, creatively lead and manage all main production phases, through production, to post-production, delivery and relevant client liaison.

Responding to briefs & pre-production, duties to include:

  1. Liaising with client and development team to ensure brief is understood.
  2. Interpretation of briefs and writing up proposals and presenting to clients.
  3. Undertake or supervise all aspects of the project pre-production.

Production, duties to include:

  1. Maintain constant communication with client and all other key creative personnel, on and off set.
  2. Serve as primary point of contact for the client, along with the Account Manager.
  3. Direct and shoot projects, whilst ensuring content remains true to creative brief.

Post-production & delivery, duties to include:

  1. Liaise personally with all post-production personnel, keeping clear client communication throughout to ensure project is delivered to expectations.
  2. Ensure project is delivered on time, on budget and with the correct deliverables.
  3. Attend debrief meetings as required internally and with clients.

What we are looking for 

Essential

  • Experience working as a Self Shooting Producer / Director or similar relevant position.
  • Varied self-shoot directing portfolio.
  • Experience having responsibility for a varied portfolio of projects and productions.
  • Experience acting as project lead to develop and / or produce content.
  • Experience multi-skilling – producing, shooting and directing on screen talent.
  • Extensive understanding of all the creative processes, including video production, directing, editing and digital delivery.
  • Extensive working knowledge of shoot kit / edit equipment and how this can be used to best effect for your project.
  • Creative script writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent creative script writing skills.
  • Excellent scheduling and time management skills.
  • Ability to spot, and deal with, potential problems before they materialise.
  • Ability to act decisively and sensitively in challenging environments.

Desirable 

  • Experience of overseas shoots.
  • TV Production or similar relevant degree.
  • Experience working with brands and agencies to deliver creative content.
  • Experience delivering cross platform content projects.
  • Experience supervising and / or managing a creative team of people.
  • Use of edit software – AVID/Premier.
  • Understanding of graphic design software and work flow – e.g. After Effects, Cinema 4D.
  • Budget preparation and control for production.

What you will be doing

  • Coming up with ideas in response to client briefs
  • Consulting with production teams to develop ideas and ensure they’re appropriate for budgets
  • Working with our CD to prepare ideas to present to client
  • Writing scripts and content for film, print and digital
  • Reviewing work and collaborating with production teams/designers to ensure that work remains on brief and best-in-class
  • Presenting creative work to clients
  • Proactively sharing interesting work and creative inspiration with the team
  • Being a nice person and dealing with the team respectfully and thoughtfully
